Helen Adams Keller (1880 – 1968) was an American author, political activist and lecturer. She was the subject of the acclaimed film The Miracle Worker.
Completely blind and deaf following an illness at the age of 19 months, Helen Keller became a world-famous speaker and author, traveled internationally and was politically active in her opposition to war. She campaigned for women’s suffrage, workers’ rights, and socialism, and many other progressive causes and was a strong advocate for people with disabilities.
